Romainville est une commune urbaine qui s'étend sur 343 hectares et compte plus de 25 000 habitantes et habitants. La ville s’est engagée dans de nombreux projets qui visent à réduire les fractures urbaines et à ouvrir les différentes zones de la ville aux communes voisines. L’objectif est de permettre à tous les habitants de cette ville dynamique et populaire de bien vivre ensemble. Sophie, participante de la Convention, partage sa vision de la ville où elle habite.

Romainville pour vous c’est ?
Une ville de diversité à échelle humaine. Je trouve que les différents quartiers de la ville ne sont pas cloisonnés, ce qui permet aux habitants de pouvoir se rencontrer au quotidien, dans l’espace public. Romainville est une ville qui respire, ce qui n’empêche pas d’avoir accès à des commerces de proximité dans la plupart de nos quartiers. On y trouve également des lieux culturels qui s’emparent des questions écologiques comme La Cité Maraîchère.

Le premier endroit à Romainville que vous montreriez à quelqu’un qui ne connaît pas la ville ?
Le parc de Romainville, parce que c’est un poumon vert accessible à tous. C’est un lieu agréable dans lequel il y a des zones où la biodiversité est préservée. L’été, la grande pelouse est investie par les habitants, je trouve que notre mixité sociale y est palpable.
Une initiative, un projet ou bien une personnalité de votre ville qui vous inspire ?
Le cinéma indépendant Le Trianon. Son architecture rappelle celle des années 50, il fait partie du patrimoine de la ville. Il y a des partenariats culturels et éducatifs avec les établissements scolaires via des ciné-débats par exemple. Le Trianon a une ouverture sur les villes avoisinantes : c’est le cas avec le collège Olympe de Gouges qui se trouve à Noisy-Le-Sec. Ces connexions sont importantes dans la manière dont nous vivons nos villes, car cela montre qu’elles ne sont pas fermées sur elles-mêmes.

Comment imaginez-vous Romainville dans 10 ans ?
Je l’imagine encore plus densément peuplée, car elle sera proche de la ligne de métro du Grand Paris Express. Mais j’aimerais que le calme et la respiration que je trouve à Romainville ne disparaissent pas et soit toujours une caractéristique de cette ville où je prends plaisir à vivre.
